Scoring, Made Simple (Plus What's New)
We've simplified how points work so there's no more guessing. Here's the new scoring in one minute — with an example — and a quick rundown of recent changes.
A few of you asked how scoring actually works. Fair question — the old wording made it sound like points could stack. They don't. Here's the simple version.

The rule, in one line
Each match awards either the exact-score points or the correct-winner points — never both.
That's it. Get the exact scoreline? You get the exact-score points. Miss the score but call the winner (or a draw)? You get the winner points. Wrong winner? Zero.
An example
Say your group is set to 1 point for the winner and 3 points for an exact score. The match finishes Germany 2 - 1 France.
- You predicted 2 - 1 Germany → exact score → 3 points
- You predicted 3 - 0 Germany → correct winner, wrong score → 1 point
- You predicted 1 - 1 draw → wrong winner → 0 points
- You predicted 0 - 2 France → wrong winner → 0 points
Exact-score points and winner points are exclusive. The exact score already counts as a correct winner — it doesn't double-dip.
Admins can change the point values for their group in Settings. Bonus questions are scored separately and stack on top.
Recent changes
A quick recap of what shipped lately:
- Languages everywhere. Country names, group names, and match dates now translate across all six supported languages.
- Leaderboard polish. Names are clickable with a proper cursor, profile popups have rounded edges on mobile, and the close button no longer overlaps the points.
- Mobile fixes. The Leaderboard tab label fits cleanly, "Paid" status is visible on mobile, and the Pot & Payments member list no longer overlaps the payment pills.
- Smaller touches. Cursor changes on hover for refresh, language, and profile menus. Extra breathing room around group flags so they don't kiss the frame edges.
